Loretta Fahy Named Runner Up for the Mairtín Crawford Award
Loretta Fahy was delighted to be placed first runner up for the Mairtín Crawford Award in Belfast this summer, presented as part of the Belfast Book Festival. She thanks adjudicating judge Dawn Watson for her kind words.
Loretta also has two poems, "Waiting" and "Hellebore," featured in the summer issue of The Soliloquist, a beautifully produced magazine now in its fifth issue. Both poems turn on the ache of anticipation, of waiting for something, or someone, to arrive before its time.
Loretta has published in journals and papers, including The Irish Times, and her work has also appeared in Frazzled Lit and Allegro Poetry. Her poem "Six, Double Two, Seven, Six, Landline Disconnected" was among three pieces selected for broadcast as part of RTÉ's The Prompt, presented by Lucy Caldwell.
