URBAN ENIGMAS
21 September 2025
I’m pleased to announce that my collection of poems – Urban Enigmas – was published by Dipity Press in the US in August and is available on their website and online bookshops.
Urban Enigmas is a collection of poems exploring the many fragments of what makes a city an intriguing home, through the accidental finds, oddities and new perspectives.
Urban Enigmas looks at Brussels through the lenses of (a) its waste management services, (b) portraits of people one glimpses, wonders about but rarely meets, (c) the coded messages of things left in the streets, (d) the found meanings of things lost, and (e) the uniqueness of special streets or streets made special.
On the Hummingbird Blink: Nectar Poetry podcast, Episode 141, I read two of the twenty-three poems in the collection – The Monsters Roam and The Half Apple – and share the journey behind Urban Enigmas.
They were fun to write; I hope that you have fun reading them!
